Telkom FTTH contact details

Wandering if someone can assist. I live in Westcliff, JHB. I have seen Telkom have been installing fibre and have setup manholes throughout the area and there has been mention of FTTH being available. But that is where it ends.

I have been trying to get hold of someone competent at Telkom ( big ask I know) who can assist me with the FTTH roll-out in Westcliff but nobody can assist. I am being sent form pillar to post.

Anybody have some form of contact details for the department / persons handling FTTH ?

Thanks Musicmp3. That's the easy part and I have seen the teams installing in the area. The challenge is to get hold of someone to get my services and fibre terminated into my house. We are also looking at rolling out with neighbourhood wide CCTV project using their infrastructure.

So far this call centre is sharp. almost immediate answers and very quick reply to an application that was sent.

Its not dedicated as I just found out. You have to be asked to be transferred to the fibre department. Anyway the answered within a minute and gave me a estimated delivery date. Its about a months wait but I'm okay with that. Its something at least.

I wouldn't touch Telescum's FFTH with a 2000 ft pole considering the following:

2 year contract
50gig softcap
non existent cancellation department
expensive compared to other service providers (NOT MTN - rip offs)

Fishily I agree, we were all exited in my security village that Telkom was installing Fibre until we saw they have 24 month contract packages only.

Go with another ISP who doesn't force a 24-month contract down your throat? 2 year contracts are so 2009.

http://www.ispafrika.co.za/ - I'm using these people. I had an order with WA open but they simply failed to contact me with anything so have cancelled with them and applied with ISPAfrika. Instant response, well worth the R1710 installation fee.

Cybersmart also offers TFTTH, as do MWEB and Vox.
