Anybody know if there are any?

I just spoke to a Telkom consultant, called Vululani (on 0800 375 375, at about 8:45 on 20/09/2011).

After clearly explaining my problem to him (i.e. NOT "my internetz aren't working, fix it"), mentioning the results of my international speedtest results (from speedtest.net) and local results (from speedtest-rba.isdsl.net) being far below what I expect (300kbps and 400kbps on my 6Mbps line respectively), my recent attempts at unplugging the only filter that's connected to that line, asking him to reset the port (which is what usually fixes the problem), he said that :

"You must take the results and multiply it by a million, then you get your speed."

After trying (in vain) to explain the "delicate intricacies" of the difference between kbps and Mbps to him (all the time trying to convince me to "multiply by a million! multiply by a million!"), he promptly put down the phone.

When I tried to phone back, the call centre was closed.

They say they record those calls for quality. I'd like his supervisor to listen to that call.

I see there's a list of congested exchanges floating around. I'd recommend we do a list of useless Telkom employees as well.
