( Yes I still use it. )

Anybody that can confirm this?

Had to deal with this question lately. Applied for new Telkom Fiber Internet via Openserve and apparently it no longer comes with e-mail account included. All my Internet lines always included an e-mail account.

Not a major cost but still something that used to be included that now seem to be an add-on service.

I also did not get a Telkom Mailbox.

I'm on Openserve/Telkom Fiber at my dad's place since it's heavily subsidised for him due to his previous work at Telkom.

Why would you need a @Telkomsa.net/co.za e-mail adresss though? Their mail server goes down regularly and it is slow.

I set up my old telkomsa.net e-mail adress to forward all mail to my G-Mail account.

.

Have been using the mailbox for many years. Too lazy to divert all incoming. Easier to continue.
Just changing fibre network but had to apply for new service and stop existing one. Mailbox = alias.

Given the limited scope of Telkom’s mail service (small mailbox, limited spam management, pop only access, limited external smtp access)- there’s little reason not to forward mails to a more robust, secure and resilient platform (gmail, amongst a few other options) and use that mail provider’s superior functionality (if all you care about is reachability to your legacy addreses).
