Not sure if this is the correct forum - if not please move.

I have been without a landline since the 15th November, and Telkom simply refuses to deal with any new complaints as they say that it has been reported already.

Here is there website reply:

Phone them & escalate, make sure they give you an escalation number.

Your cell number is still visible in the fault report Fazda, Do a ninja edit, quick! :p

+1 for phone and escalate. Also, maybe TelkomZA could help?

I struggled for over three weeks with Telkom. I eventually complained on Hello Peter and Telkom came back too me with in hours and fix my line 2 days after the complaint on Hello Peter

Bug TelkomZA, log a complaint on Hellopeter as well..

Get the number for the infrastucture dude in your area, turn into a pain on his end as well.. (though usually a single call asking for something is enough with those guys)

Make sure to ask TelkomZA to confirm that your landline fault was hopefully not caused by some cable theft that occurred in your area.

Because if it's the case, then you are TRULY screwed :( You may have to wait at most 2 -3 months for them to fully investigate the cable theft incident and then decide whether it's feasible or not to replace stolen cables in your area (if it's classified as a high theft risk then it's bad news). Copper cables cost a lot of money.

Sorry, I lost this thread! :o

I have STILL not come right - one week to go and I will have had no land line for two months!!

Did @TelkomZA on Twitter tell you why your landline's been down for nearly 2 months?

Why your ADSL works but not your phone line...

On the diagram below your line enters the exchange at the MDF (patch panel). From there it splits off to the DSLAM for your data and to the PSTN (switch) for your voice service.

There must be a fault on the switch side affecting your voice service and I bet you are not alone!

He is part of a team who is officially responsible to deal with these channels.

Was just wondering (as his lack of service makes it seem like he is doing clients a favour). Because if it were a favour, then cool. He (the team) can take as long as he wants. But if it is part of his job, he is doing a crap job. Dont care how many avenues he services. If he cant do them all well, he should scale down and only do a few but do them well. My enquiry sent on Tuesday is still unanswered. Or he should set himself service standards so clients know how long it should take.
