I decided to get a 512 connection at home. I pondered about this for some time thinking of all the frustration I would have to go through in order to get Telkom to install it. Any way I took the plunge phoning first this in the morning.
Helpdesk: Not too bad took all my details in an ok manner I was a bit surprised that it went so smoothly. Any way they told me they would contact me about the installation.
Me Thinking : Oh yes this should be fun bet it will be in about 6 weeks and then there will be some problem or other.
Anyway the day goes on and around 15:00h my cell rings.
Me: Hello
The caller: Hello sir this Sam from Telkom, about your ADSL installation …. (Me thinking, oh here we go what’s wrong now?) Err …. Sir unfortunately there I have a small problem.
Me: Oh yes what is it (me thinking I should just cry before I hear this)
Sam: Err …Sir I am running a bit behind schedule …… silence
Me: Yes so?
Sam: Err Sir I won’t be able to make it this afternoon to install your ADSL.
Me: …………. Silence ………
Sam: Sir … Sir are you there
Me Pardon!
Sam Um Sir I am sorry about this …… Err if it’s a big problem for you I can make arrangements with my boss that I work late.
Me: Speechless
Sam: Sir, Sir
Me Hu that’s Ok, when can you come and do it for me?
Sam: Um.. How about first thing in the morning, say 08:30
Me: Ok, thanks.
Next day 08:10, and there is Sam to connect my ADSL. Within about an hour all done, thanks Sam. Ok Sir sorry about the delay.
NOW, IF I COULD ONLY USE MY 3Gig in a month with the bandwidth restrictions it would be a bonus.
