Telkom incompetence strikes again...

Applied for ADSL via WebAfrica on the 3rd of Dec 2014. After a friggin long wait the Telkom techs came to install the line this past Sunday(25 Jan 2015). Now WebAfrica get back to me today(27th) to notify me that there are no ADSL ports available at our local exchange... Brackenfell, Cape Town. 2 Months of communication and nobody could just check the port availablity? Seriously... Telkom are trully an incompetent bunch!

So what other options are there for someone like me who needs reliable internet access at home and cannot get ADSL? Neotel? I currently have a Telkom Mobile 3G package, but the signal is just too poor at my place and the GB limit is too small!

Depending where you are in Brackenfell, my ADSL line there is buggered. Unable to use the service after hours (from about 7pm till midnight or 1am) and weekends are a complete joke. This is the second time my line has degraded to unusable within 6 months.

Hard luck, but it seems the area is pretty crap for ADSL.

I live in B'Fell and my ADSL is fine. Protea Heights. Where are you?

Just got a call from a Telkom Rep antie who said that there is a problem in my area and that they are working on it. No ETA of course.

Friend of mine up the road has never been able to sync at more than 2mbps. Bizarre...
