Hey guys.
About a year ago(maybe less), I signed a contract for the package called SmartHome Advanced. It offered me 20gb of data, a router, a dongle, a 4mb line, Microsoft Office 365 and 2 sim cards(one with data and one with minutes to make calls)
When I heard about the data wallet promotion I was ecstatic because in my area the line theft is unbelievable.
I'm stuck without wifi for days at times and constantly buying data makes me wonder why I even signed that contract.

Shouldn't my Data sim card be able to use my data from softcap package ? I've tried and it doesn't work
Am I doing something wrong ?
Is there something I need to setup ?
Please help and thanks in advanced !
 
When you reciebed the sim card, did you activate the Intergrated Data Bundle?
There was a pamphelt with instruction on how to activate the card.
 
You need to get a special data wallet sim card ,integrated data wallet doesn't work with the sim cards you received with the smart home package when you first sign up.

... strange thing is they gave me one after I had ongoing problems with incoming calls on my line, ADSL was fine. Have to say it has its uses when investigating ADSL issues on client premises :)

I really need this, just yesterday I've been experiencing this weird crackling sound on my house phone(wireless).
The internet speed has been dreadful and I still have like 12GB left for the month.
I've reported it to Telkom today and asked them about the sim, as always, clueless and incompetent, the person I spoke to did not know what I was talking about.
Hopefully, a technician comes tomorrow to see what'sgoing on
 
Does anybody have what the profile settings should be please?

I can wifi to the dongle, it shows Telkom full signal, but does not connect. What should the values be in

Name: TelkomInternet
User & Password: leave blank
APN: TelkomInternet

You should have received a "Setting up your DWR-730 modem" instruction sheet with the modem.

I suspect I might be confusing Telkom offerings here which isn't difficult.

The modem + sim is offered to Telkom Internet ADSL clients with ongoing line problems, they phone you out of the blue and ask if you want it. It's a freebie with no contractual obligations.

Cap is determined by your existing TI account. I get allocated 5GB/mth on my 10Mbps Uncapped, I believe TI Capped accounts are just that - if you have 50GB you can use the lot.
