The media providers are finally catching on to the concept of billing via the networks. It makes sense for all ISP's to offer products like this.

It is actually shocking that Telkom is jumping MWEB with this incentive, especially when you consider Naspars is the parent company for both MWEB and Multichoice.

I contacted them, the free do gaming trial is only available from 4 October and can be activated on their Telkom Internet Usage Tracking Tool, so it's not a call centre trial and you must access their tracker tool to activate, plus it's available for 30 days from activation . So it looks like a rage launch. Month of gaming, comming just the right time.

They must win the innovation award this year!!!!... Night Surfer, Double data, do movies, do gaming etc etc very creative and as Pixual says, this is where Networks and Billing align, pretty awesome!

if I remeber correctly they stated upgrading their ISP network in February, I take it the new system allow them to be more creative

dstv is in the mix. their history of screwing their customers is strong. nice innovation though. telkom is giving consumers something to think about finally.

it states iTunes, so definately not apps like YouTube, NetFlix etc

Seems like a great idea, now if one of the mobile networks could do something similar for people who can't get a DSL line. This would be a great addon for Telkom's fixed line look alike service.
