Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Certain sites loading very slowly, TI's usage tracker and [-]SAIX userstats[/-] not working at all, clash of clans on my tablet (WiFi) not working either.

Looks like its one of those days.

Tracker & user stats fine here, performance back to what it was prior to the recent hassles with the exception of business hours P2P as previously mentioned.

ditto here. P2P ran full speed through the night.

Ah, the tragedy of P2P in SA, no-one seeds. Maybe we should exclude daytime upstream P2P from FUP, bjy there isn't really an excuse for not seeding in NightSurfer ...
Just to educate you. The lack of speed has zero to do with lack of SA seeders.

I just want the speeds at least to increase to near max during the overnight, with perhaps some level during the day.

It is heavily shaped at present until around 1:30 - 2:30 and often beyond,

Why are you quoting him out of context? Ranger's reply to me has to with SEEDS and NOTHING to do with speed.

PS. Have you logged that fault yet?

Weird speed tests from Cape Town, Meadowridge.

Using speedtest.net, there are two telkom related hosts, one hosted by telkom Internet, the other hosted by Telkom SAIX. Notice the difference in Ping. The Tracert indicates that I am in fact routing via SAIX.
/Edit If I test via SAIX.net I get the same results as per Telkom Internet. /Edit

If I test by simply clicking the begin test button I get:

If I test by choosing SAIX I get :

A tracert to mybroadband.co.za gives:

The latency reported by speedtest to our Cape Town speedtest server is weird, it should be slightly lower than to the saix speedtest server.

But, you are routing via Telkom Internet (105.226.0.* is a range belonging to us we use for routers in our Cape Town site), then SAIX, then IS to get to Hetzner.

Try ping and traceroute to speedtest-cpt.telkomsa.net . I get a very similar result as my speedtest.

(Initially we asked SAIX to host reverse DNS for our ADSL ranges 105.22[456789].* as *.telkomsa.net, but for some reason they changed it to *.telkomadsl.co.za, which might be confusing you above. We are in the process of moving it, e.g. most of 105.229.* is back as telkomsa.net)

I hope this is fixed soon as people are getting totally misleading results if they choose the default test.

@ranger - torrents are running fine this morning, are you running a different QoS at the weekend or have you fixed the business hours P2P problem?

Torrents.jpg

... I've a 225kB/s download limit set between 07:00 - 23:45, performance is looking good :)

@Ranger: Here too can report my TI 4 meg uncapped performing very well. Pageloads very snappy, nntp, torrents and downloads at full line speed.

Edit: Even Supersport is streaming well, and in HD! :D
