I'm starting to worry a bit now. I usually download NZBs and it was great with Telkom since they always run at speed. Last night however my torrents were flying at close to full speed but when downloading NZBs it was going at quarter speed. Had to change to my Webafrica account to get full speed.

Try using a pay news server, the saix news server is terribly slow lately. And most nzb downloads are corrupt or missing blocks.
sunnyusenet.com - they cheap and have a 7 day trial account you can use to test the service.

Currently using sunny and maxing my line out on nzbs anytime of day or night

YouTube streaming is useless again, had some visitors earlier, and I tried to show them a youtube video on the TV and it buffered ever two seconds, not cool.

My kids and friends are watching Youtube in lounge with Xbox connection , im doing stuff on my PC and have 1 small torrent going . No problems Tonight

I was supposed to be moved to a DSLAM unaffected by congestion; after the fault was closed I still had the same problems.

What do I do now?

Internet is working just great for me today. YouTube streaming is excellent in HD (720p?) and HQ(480p?), Google maps loads well as well.
Why can't it be like this everyday.

So.....using sunnyusenet.com and only getting 28 kilobyte per second download speeds. What am I doing wrong?

So getting even worse speeds than the free news.saix server.

what port do you use for the server, do you enable ssl and what package are you on?

Yet again, streaming is slow as balls in the evening. I always thought 6AM-5PM was work hours (throttled to hell), then 5PM - 00 was prime hours (less throttled), then 00-6AM was uber hours (unthrottled). It seems that the prime hours = rape hours for the network :/

You are not alone. They confirmed congestion for my line too but my faults just like you keeps on being closed.

My Telkom line is so bad, it keeps resynchronizing. But when I remove all the other things it works fine, I even replaced my filters but the problem persist. Did Telkom lower the voltage on the line perhaps? It was working fine before Saturday.

Sounds like you have some things bypassing the filter

Tired of complaining about the same phenomenon every night, I just don't care anymore.

Ok so it's pretty official they're shaping streaming services in some way shape or form.

Telkom: Hulu is only able to stream on medium and buffers on high.

Vox fat pipe is able to get Hulu to stream HD content without a single buffer?

Both on a 4Mb line.
