Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Internet dead in Langenhovenpark Bloemfontein. Resorted to 3G to post this message. Actually quite funny. Service is getting worse, yet price is going up. Gotta love a state funded monopoloy.
 
Does Telkom no longer offer a discount if you take a do bundle?
 
Ok so it's pretty official they're shaping streaming services in some way shape or form.

Telkom: Hulu is only able to stream on medium and buffers on high.

Vox fat pipe is able to get Hulu to stream HD content without a single buffer?

Both on a 4Mb line.

Getting similar occurrences with Twitch.tv and XBMC. It's really annoying. Speed tests are great, but streaming is usually terrible. Sometimes both are bad.

I left TelkomInternet as of this month and moved over to WebAfrica Home Capped. All I can say is AMAZING!!!!
 
This has been on going for months. I have cancelled my hulu sub as Hulu doesn't stream well on any local ISP. :(

It streams HD perfectly on my Vox 40gb account.
So much so I now have a bolt-on capped account just for streaming at night.
I've given up on Afrihost as well as Telkom and Afrihost both have similar line issues at the same times.

I am on the capped product. There isn't a star rating system for that.

Usage tracker still down for me, since late last month.... Only have saix stats.

Do u still get a discount for taking a do uncapped bundle?

Switched to TI uncapped. So far I am happy, at least during the day i am not shaped like some ISPs..
 
It seems TI is now throttling until 01:00 in the morning. I thought it was supposed to be only until 00:00, and then unthrottled from 00:00 to 06:00? I've been keeping an eye and the throttling definitely only eases up at 01:00. What's going on Telkom?
 
Is there any sort of process for reporting exchange congestion or do I just have to wait it out?

I would effeminately not wait it out.
Have you tried with a free account from another ISP?

If you do record the same figures with another account, I would report the problem.

With the fault report number I would contact @TelkomZA on twitter.
They can follow up and inform you if there is exchange congestion and if and when there are plans to upgrade the exchange.

Best you can do is to call 10210 every single day for a week to make sure its cancelled. Unfortunately you will have to cough up for the amounts already billed for as getting them to reverse it is impossible no matter how many disputes you log. That, or they black list you.

Same here, but I wasn't charged last month, but this month it is back again.
