Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

My 4meg was throttled at 292GB for May and 300GB for June. This month all downloads were done between 00h00 and 06h00.

I hope to see a reply from Ranger on this. I been scheduling most of my downloads for between 00:00-06:00 and I'd hate to find out its all been in vain.

He has responded recently and re-confirmed that downloads during night surfer doesn't "add" towards your usage. But Bernies post seems to show that he was throttled at +- the same usage even though all his downloads were done during nightsurfer.

I'm not a heavy downloader, in fact 150gigs a month is alot, but there will be some months that I do and I need clarity that if I schedule my downloads to nightsurfer I wont be throttled at 300gigs.

I'm inclined to believe that either nightsurfer time doesn't work or since June the thresholds have changed/dropped. If its the latter then in June Bernie would have been throttled at usage lower than May (below 292gb) had he not scheduled his downloads for between 00:00-06:00.

Would be nice to know which one it is.
 
Counted 3 people that are throttled despite doing bulk downloads between 12am and 6am

Not sure how this works now.

Thanks for the reply, i've never done more than +-240 and i usually do about 180, so i should be fine.
 
download speeds between 0 - 10 kbps again...Can't fully load pages or anything.
 
Ordered an uncapped account from telkom on Saturday. Was told the login details would be sent by SMS. Got a SMS to rate my experience but no login details.

Called in yesterday and spent 45 minutes being sent from one person to another, first being told the account was never created, then that it was created and the details would be sent by SMS, would I please hold.

While on hold I was put through to yet another person who knew nothing about my order, I hung up

Still no login details...

Same thing happened to me.
My uncapped account was recreated 3 times before I got to use it.
 
We have 4Mb Uncapped.
2 smartphones, 2 tablets, 2 laptops and a PC.
Using Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, Online gaming, Twitter, News24 videos, Youtube downloads and a lot of other video and picture uploads and downloads. As well as streaming due to involvement with Animal protection groups.
I do training and as such download a ton of info (videos, books etc)
Not to mention downloading from Amazon and so on.
How can that make us power users?
And how do you explain that to the ISP???
 
Anyone know how much data you can use on a 2Mbit Uncapped line before they complain and send you to that termination page. I've currently only used 81gigs (checked on userstats.adsl.saix.net), most of that is on Steam because of the Humble Bundles.

On the titracker site, the bar is red and is quite close to the power user area. How much more can I do before they unleash fury on me? I don't remember the Usage Policy being this restrictive. I'm pretty sure a was doing 100gigs + a couple months ago.

Wanted to get Brutal Legend and the Witcher downloaded this week. Guess that'll have to wait. :/

What is the throttle speed? Close to zero ...

People say they are scheduling downloads overnight but still getting the landing page.

384 - what plenty of folks were on a year or so ago.

They should have a DL manager installed to track their activity. They can present this to ranger to check.

I`m on a 2Mb home uncapped account and I Schedule my bulk downloads to start after 00h00 till 06h00 with no problems and I`m in the orange still.

Any guides on how I can set this up? I currently have Netlimiter installed, but I don't think it has scheduling options.

I also read in the past pages that you have to create a new session for the changes to take effect. So, in other words, I should disconnect and reconnect?

Like other people have said, scheduling doesn't always work. And in some cases, the throttled speed is even less than 384. That makes me a bit worried.
 
I'm in the green, I schedule dl for 00h00 to 06h00, but maybe I schedule my router to reboot at 0h00 just in case now ....
