I dont wanna jinx it but things have been alot better this week, for me at least.
I been on night shift so I haven't been able to test any evening streaming.
How is the streaming been for you at night?

Perfect! I tested a few vids and they all glitch right as the video starts (universal/mgm/fox etc logos) but it's gone in 5sec and the actual movie plays flawlessly.

Got any more sites like that? :D

Thanks a mil Ponder, you have given me hope. Last weekend I tried streaming Amazing Spiderman 2 off that site and it hung around doing nothing.
On one occasion I got the Sony logo and that was it.

I dont have many html streaming sites that I stream from, I do 99% of my streaming via XBMC using my android tv stick, if you need help with that I'd be happy to assist you.
 
Having some problems with Clash of Clans today as well as yesterday. Had to switch to 3G

Most TI subscribers probably can't get any throughput to post here :D

I suppose there's no real point in moaning when there's actually no feedback whatsoever from the unofficial rep about the goings on with their service. I've been having problems with TI for a while now. Tired of posting about it in here now, reporting to TelkomZA, calling the call centre etc. and still nothing getting done about it. There's definitely issues with TI though.
 
I hate to say it but I'm sick of waiting for answers, its time to vote with my feet. This weekend was terrible I could barely get 100kB/s on any stream.

Thanks Ti it was good while it lasted but the last month has been absolute shyte. I cant stay around waiting while you get your A into G and fix it.

EDIT: Just read this now, might it be the reason streaming has been farked this weekend? Telkom says "Telkom highlighted that streaming video and online gaming are examples of usage patterns which may cause problems."
And then go on later to say they advise using these applications. WTF make up your mind Telkom :mad:

Edit: scrap that, i forgot there was an update. See here for DBN issues as Ponder got some word.

@shanezn and anyone else in the DBN area, please post your speedtests or if you have another method of testing from 5pm onwards in Ponder's thread here.

It should be fixed this week, earliest tomorrow, latest Saturday depending on gaining approval for deploying some changes currently being tested.

No, the people who wrote that are being taken to task for what they did, there are many factual inaccuracies in the communication that was sent to customers.

But it's out there now, and that's that. PR damage done, and Telkom Internet not doing themselves any favours.

Can you give us more details on the fixes please, will this impact our current sessions etc. We like the tech stuff [what you can tell us atleast] :love:

Wohoo! Streaming Xbox gamescom conference on xbox.com [avoiding twitch personally] and it is streaming on the 2Mbps connection between 800kbps - 1700kbps [as per the player info]. :)

Thanks for the feedback Ranger, this news couldn't have come at a better time.
I actually called to downgrade to the 10gig capped and planned to move onto another ISP from August but they said the downgrade was immediate, after which I decided I'll wait till the 25th then downgrade.

I'm so glad they will be fixing things by the weekend because honestly I don't want to change to another ISP when Ti has worked so well for me before. If things are better after this weekend I'll not be moving :)
