Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Frustating gaming, two nights in a row. (after testing Ti on a friends account, I was impressed and made the switch on Sunday, first day everything was awesome and I was stoked with the move, Monday & Tuesday however ... )

Is it a Durban issue, I'm on the Kloof (NKLO) exchange

Downloads, speedtest and tracerts all look normal, but latency to a TeamSpeak server in cape town, and i locally hosted games (CoD, CS:GO) is hitting the 100ms, which ofcourse makes playing a little akward.

Trying to hit the frags hard with new season of DGL around the corner .......

Will have a look tonight when I get home, perhaps call for a port reset, and see/hope things improve

Can you provide tracroutes to all the servers you connect to so we can see on whose network they are located?

If port reset doesnt make a difference I'll track some IP's and do some tracerts, fun night ahead (holding thumbs it magically fixed itself when i get home)

CoD will be P2P hosted with me thinking majority of CS:GO servers will be MWEB.

PS: as a side note, switching back to the ISP im leaving (account still active but everything is dead at them) latency is fine to same server, generally around 40ms to TS3 server, so maybe port reset doesn't look like a likely fix

I've been getting (inconsistent) slow international speeds this week:

Local seems fine:

Afternoons are drastically worse. Streaming was non existent last night with mostly <0.5 mbps D/L international speeds...
Anything I should know?

Not sure if this is the thread post this but it's seems my internet connection has gone down. Router shows no i.p or dns addresses. Router error log shows failed to authenticate. Unsure of the cause of action to take. Should I call Telkom and report a fault or should I wait? On the Telkom Uncapped 2mb package. Cape Town southern subs

Which speedtest server was this?

If it was MWEB, we are aware if an issue with traffic between us and MWEB affecting users going vis Cape Town which could have started on Friday. It seems to be on MWEB's side (see a traceroute).

While the IPC hasn't been redistributed yet to allow us to upgrade, other work over the past week has brought some improvements.

For other regions, there should be improvements in general, but we are still tweaking some load balancing of different circuits as the changes resulted in big changes in traffic distribution.
Catching up on UK soaps now that tvchaosuk are back online with their new servers, have to say that torrents are running smoothly considering it's currently business hours.

Please try a different international speedtest server from speedtest.net. I have seen some weird results from the MyBroadband international speedtest server, where other UK speedtest servers perform as expected.

I've been struggling to stream since the beginning of the month.

Can you provide a traceroute to the IP the stream is served from?

(We have some test VMs in the network, but the firewalls aren't allowing them to traceroute)

+1
From about 16h onwards, stuggling is an understatement.
And international speedtest results are slow on any test.

If I do a speedtest, my speeds are fine. I can download from the SAIX news server at my line speed (4mb/s) however everything else is dead slow. Opening webpages takes forever, struggle to watch youtube videos, get crazy pings while playing games online etc.

Had two Telkom techies at my house and both have said they can't see anything wrong.

Wish they could be at my house when it takes 20+ seconds to open Google :/

You also get time-outs on pages requiring constant refreshing?
