Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Sigh. First major problems with ADSL for me in a long time. At least I have 3g backup

Ya broken sea cables totally going to make me unable to do 90% of the **** i do locally.

Actually yes because 90% of local stuff is hosted internationally.

Likewise 90% of our international connectivity is tied to those undersea cables.
 
Off topic (please help):

A mate of mine has Openserve fiber 10mb 100GB capped. They lost their login details and couldn't remember router password, so I had no choice in pressing the reset button, but now no matter what I try I can't get it to connect.

Does someone have the procedure for Hauwei Telkom Home Gateway router. How do I get access to the other box with fiber connected via lan cable?
 
A mate of mine has Telkom fiber 10mb 100GB capped. They lost their login password and got issued a new one, but couldn't remember router password, so I had no choice in pressing the reset button, but now no matter what I try I can't get it to connect.

I'm trying to setup a PPPOE account which didn't work then tried every combination in between, but no matter what ISP details I enter, it won't connect.

Does someone have the procedure for Hauwei Telkom Home Gateway router to setup after a factory reset. How do I get access to the other box with fiber connected via lan cable?

Please help.

Better to start a new thread.
But in the meantime make sure you are using port 1 or 4, I forget which, on the ONT(the modem device) all other ports are locked down

It was working before the password reset, haven't changed cable configuration.

Thanks I'll do that.
 
Yes Telkom has had a major problem with international bandwidth and latency the past week.

So much so that streaming live iptv is impossible without using either a VPN or proxy and no resolution in sight.
 
Aaaaaaargh, anybody else just have Telkom's DNS die on them again for international sites???? Why Telkom, why now?
