Hi Everybody

Ever since yesterday afternoon at around 1 o'clock, My ADSL hasnt worked properly, I have a Telkm 1024k line and 8GB data. I can browse the internet but Playstation Network doesnt seem to connect/sign in, I know my PSN account details are correct because I played online last night using my Cell C 3G Modem. It is refusing to log on. So I purchased 5GB from Openweb and tried to connect with the 5Gb but it doesnt connect with that too!, My DNS settings are set to auto, The modem im using is a Telkom modem so maybe thats the problem, Speedtest.net doesnt load when I try an error comes up at times, I also tried to dial a PPPOE connection from the ps3 via network settings which also doesnt allow me to connect to PSN, I know its not a PSN fault because I can sign in using 3G. So its either my modem or line that is causing the problem.

Anybody got a solution or experiencing something similer?

same here.. some sites refuse to open

for eg facebook and lancerregister.com

:e

Both working here - check your firewall or malware/spyware settings.

it works and now and then... times our most of the time

XDA forums refuses to open!

Cant access it via my galaxy s over wifi either

im having similar issues. spoken to 2 people on the helpline and been holding for about an hour, awesome service

Just so sick of telkom. 3 weeks without a stable connection, logged a fault 3 days ago, technician came the next day but my dad told him everything was fine, next day its ****ed again. The routers internet light was red from about 4pm yesterday and only started working again this morning. So i have no idea if that was a seperate issue or part of the same crap that's been happening the last 3 weeks.

also got an uncapped 1mbps i have had no problems....been downloading all of yesterday and today....

I seem to have problems recently also wow just disconnects for no reason and some websites just stop responding for few seconds then fine again for a while

Was doing a pingtest to telkoms website and it times out every couple of pings

I get nothing much on Afrihost so least not my line

I think there is a problem with my set up, because I have used two different ISP's and both dont work, but what I cant understand is that I have never changed any settings on the router/playstation its driving me insane. It just one day decided to stop working!

I also have noticed my line is suddenly giving problems.
Also on 1Mbps account, I use WA(Capped) and OpenWeb(Uncapped) for ISPs.
My line syncs about half the speed it is suppose to be syncing.
Upstream 479800
Downstream 463560 (Should be double this)
The line also looses sync every now and then.
I have noticed that when I ping telkom I get about 15% packet loss.
When I picked up my landline to phone telkom I have noticed my landline is also not working. I never use it so I am not sure if this is related.
Speedtest.net also unable to load. Get an error message every time.
Using the exchange in the Monument Park/Waterkloof rif area.

I have noticed that my line was unable to sync during the day on Saturday & Sunday (7 & 8 Jan) so I thought it was maintenance by Telkom, but now I would rather suspect faulty equipment at the exchange.

If I was able to call them I would request the "technical department" to reset the port. I guess I will have to go to a telkom shop or find a working landline to call them. Anyone else with a dead telephone with similar issues?

I too am having problems, its not stable at all, i am supposed to have a 4mb line but it is only syncing at 3.8, tried a WA account but speeds are also dismal, youtube videos also buffer, feels like i m back on a the 384 line.

I have used the logged a fault online via the telkom website. Been waiting for any response. I received an sms this morning that the issue has been allocated to the tech-repair division. Nothing else.

I have managed to get a speedtest going (one of my better results)
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1703443644.png

My 1 Mbps line stats
Down/Uplink
SNR Margin 5.0 dB 7.5 dB
Line Attenuation 51.0 dB 33.0 dB
Upstream 511800
Downstream 443920
ADSL does not sync most of the time. Browsing extremely slow, sometimes not possible. Analogue phone completely dead.
About 15% packet loss.
I figure that my line is faulty or something in the exchange is fried.
From other threads it would seem like there are several people with problems with their lines

That's not a Telkom Internet problem but a Telkom ADSL problem.

Exactly same issues for 3 weeks or so.

As pointed out i just log a call, and wait for a response have tried asking the call centre if there is a problem in my specific area Lonehill, and I got the I don't know response.

The help desk guy then reset my port, no luck and then he claimed my 4meg line was to fast for my line! And claimed to drop it to 3meg, obviously did not help.

It would be interesting to see if there is a trend in areas.

I am in Lonehill.
