Telkom Internet uncapped DSL prices reduced

Its 20Mbps account will now cost R999 per month, the 40Mbps uncapped service was cut to R14,39 per month, and 100Mbps to R21,49.

Now that's cheap.

On a side note, as a 4Mbps uncapped user this news was rather dissapointing.

This is good news considering Telkom can only provide 10mbps in my area.

Lets see 10Mbps Home Uncapped was R574,00, now R 574,00 - wow that's a reduction of a whole R0.00

Would love to move from 4 - 10 Mbps but the price jump is too huge. Why are they keeping such a divide between 4Mbps and anything faster? I think the world average speed is now standing at around 25Mbps but here in SA we're mostly on 4Mbps lines with an average speed of 3.5Mbps. It just doesn't look like faster Internet is ever going to be affordable in SA.

What a let down....

Reminds me of a line in this song!!

Can we expect an announcement wrt line speed upgrades? 2Mbps ==> 4Mbps?

No. Not sure why everyone wants a free upgrade. If they upgrade lines free of charge, it will be a big disappointment, considering a lot of us can't go any faster then we are going already.

Speed upgrades are essentially price cuts for those who choose to stay on the lower speeds.

So you'd rather pay more and not be disappointed?
