Our position has always been that staff reductions will only be implemented as a final course of action. The Company therefore regards transferring staff to other employers as a viable alternative to unlock cost efficiencies. In the coming months, Telkom’s intention is to apply this option to three areas of the business:
• Taking cost out of the supply chain by outsourcing a number of warehouses
• Extracting savings from the legacy systems billing and maintenance environment, as well as our internal printing facilities
• Call Centre operations – a critical participant throughout the customer journey
