Telkom issues retrenchment letters

Telkom has issued retrenchment letters to 105 staff members, the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) said

Feel desperately sorry for anyone who's retrenched.

Are the retrenched staff allowed to apply for one of the open positions.

No. Many did apply for the 168 vacant positions but were not successful.

These 105 managers have to exit Telkom on 31 October 2014.

I hope those 105 people will find other employment soon. In this tough economical climate no person should be left to fend for themselves or else risk becoming criminals.
