Just wait and see what telkom can do....(hears a evil laugh and a lighting)....telkom is milking us horribly......dream while you still can, while you still can!
 
Just heard from a buddy of mine who works at helkom...that they definately increasing line speed...but could not divulge more details....

Oh they do development and testing of all new features...
 
Our ADSL line was down the whole of yesterday. Telkom was doing upgrades and the network failed at our exchange.
While reporting the problem the morning I spoke to a nice gentleman and asked him if he could confirm if line speeds will be bumped up. His first words to me?
"Go check out MyBB.co.za, most of the rumors on their are true but you know I am not allowed to confirm or deny anything"

He also said that with Seacom and all the new fibre optic cables recently laid, Telkom will have to bump up speeds or reduce prices. And Telkom can not afford to have less cashflow.

He says he is a regular on the forum. Waiting patiently.
 
Why so secretive, Telkom?
Does ANYBODY perhaps know a disgruntled employee who will be willing to spill beans or let cats out of bags on this? I need some concrete info!
 
The last time I heard about expecting a major upgrade from TELKOM was when they introduced billing/gig for free internet data. I'm looking closely for the new @ss rape as I am getting addicted to it by now!
 
i put my router onto auto sync up, and my modulation sync on ADSL 2 plus.

so that has to be getting ready for something. it was like that awhile back then it went away and to g.dmt.

I think testing is far over and they getting ready now to upgrade
 
Helkom also gave me a prezzie this morning they dropped our exchange the entire thing, when speaking to telkom they say they have 419 faults in my area to fix, haha at work now but can't check as eishkom broke our power, maybe you need more power for faster inet :P
 


This is what I get on speedtest.
I only previously managed to get 0.32 download max.
I am on a 384 connection.

Then the fuscking power went down :rolleyes:

Well all I can say is that my webpages are also flying.
International is like local.
Very impressed with my tiny little 384line...lol
 
I also get a constant 40-60Kb/s out of my 384 line these days (at least that is what Firefox reports) where I could previously only get 39KB/s max.
Guess this is some sign of network upgrades or something good happening

Just looking now for the Cisco IOS command to check line sync.

Hands are shaking though :D

Well as you can see -- back to normal 384
It also appears as if the max line sync is 4Mb

I tried ADSL2+ -- nope -- would not sync

Oh well cancel the Champagne and Virgin Greek Goddess/s :confused:

My router doesnt say much. I got a Mega 200 and it doesnt show line snc speeds... :(
Unless someone out there knows how it will show??
