Yeah I agree. A d¡ck move to get families and friends onto Telkom. We should be moving away from encouraging monopolies.

Are the Freeme sim only plans available month to month, so I can cancel after a few months if it doesn't work out for me? Even if it does, I don't want to be in a 24 month contract. I was told by a Telkom rep that there are sim only options, but you still need to sign a 24 month contract. The plan I'm looking at is the Freeme 20GB.

You can get it on prepaid. Same benefits.

The freeme to-up is month to month and they mail you an invoice. You can also include all-networks voice minutes as an add-on extra.

The package looses its appeal with the added cost of all-network minutes, at about 70 cents per minute

Thanks, I think I need to visit a different Telkom store. The 1500 minutes included on the Freeme 20GB should be enough for me, as I use around 1200 minutes. I currently have the FNB Connect unlimited for R399, so R200 extra for 20GB data is not bad.

If you don't take a device you can cancel without having to pay extra.
