Telkom landline issues

Telkom said a general switching problem in KwaZulu-Natal this morning led to landline services being interrupted, but the issue has since been resolved.

Why Telkom didn't go wireless years ago beats me. We have our lines stolen on a regular basis. After the first few time Telkom will only replace the lines if they are buried (at your expense). We burry the cables and they are still pulled, strand by strand, out of the ground. Hence we no longer have land lines at all. Fortunately we live too far from the exchange to get DSL anyway.

Had problems in Durban North. Yesterday was even weirder - calls were going through with a pretoria number as the caller ID.

Yeah was unable to even make calls to land line numbers from a Cellphone. Very frustrating it just said network busy....

Defiantly not in Southern Midlands or EG. never heard or seen anyone without physical lines.
