Telkom Line Upgrade : How Long?

Hey Guys,

I've searched around here but couldn't find anything recent. Last night I upgraded my 1mb DSL line to 4mb. The line is hosted through Telkom. The lady on the phone could not tell me how long it will take and gave me a reference number. Any of you guys recently done something similar and could share some insight?

It should happen instantaneously. Check again

Any hints on how I check? My line is syncing at 1024, but I reckon its cause my data account is 1mb.. I'm not sure if it'l sync higher than the data account allows? If its any use its a Netgear N300 DGN2200

Not always. I think they tell you within 48 hours. Last time I did this it took about that long.

When I upgraded from 384k to 4 meg it was instant and had to restart my router also to get it to resync at 4 meg.

Then sign up with a free trial account with one of the ISP's offering them and test it

Check on the router status then when logged into it to see your speed

You are indeed lucky. I have almost broken telephones because of the incompetence on the other side.
