Anyone living in and around Sydenham JHB (Orange Grove, Sandringham, Fairmount, Highlands North, Norwood etc.) having issues with their Telkom lines being down since the beginning of April? I reported my line down on the 1st of April, Telkom technician came out on the 6th and after doing some 'fault finding' declared that some underground cables were wet had to be repaired/replaced. The latest from 10212 is that the fault has been handed over to the cabling dept and that they are working on the problem and that I'm one of many customers affected... I have an 011 485 .... number.
Any idea at how long it would take to 'repair/replace' these magical underground cables?
Fault number: 1905CRZ010410 which was escalated on the 12th of April.
The sad part is that I ordered the line on the 22 March, Telkom guy came out and installed it on the 26 March, I requested it to be ADSL enabled on the 30 March, Telkom called on the 1st April to say it had been done. Awesome turn around time I thought. I get home in the evening on the 1st of April and my line is completely dead. Grrrr!!!!
All I'm doing now is calling 10212 every second day to hear the same story.
