Telkom Local Bandwidth

LOL, this is exactly what i was looking for!!! Thanks! I noticed 2 months ago that it should be possible to use local cap before international caus my router got "stuck" on the local connection into the new month. I went and reset the thing to get international up again though, didn't think of "dialing up" a new connection. Brilliant :) just hope telkom doesn't somehow fix this

Now if we could just find a way to initialize this local only connection in the middle of the month...

Ok I found out how to set up my router in half bridge mode compliments of this post.
But i just wanna confirm this still works because apparently telkom "reconnects" every 24 hours (maybe to prevent this?)??

In my "Network Connections" i have a Local Area Connection and a 1394 Connection what is the 2nd connection? Can I delete it or is it needed?

Another question is, if I am connected local only from the previous month (due to being capped) and "dial" the account to access international won't the local only connection be disconnected and the international one be "switched on"?

Jus got myself the do2 budle. Not that bad. I was doing alot of reading before going ahead. I cant believe people waiting between 3weeks to well infinity to get setup. It took me 3days! That 10219 number really helped. Just got to hope you get a knowledgable consultant on the other end of the line. Im not YET regretting. But i am now binded by their contract. I will prob kick myself when data prices drop and im getting 3gig when others are getting 5gig for same price
 
Hey guys, apologies if this has been mentioned somewhere else but is there any way of keeping your local session from resetting back to international if you are using scot.cowleys' method. From experience my local session gets reset a couple of days into the month and telkom defaults me back to my blended.

not that i know of, as i understand it, telkom "resets" everyones accounts every so often (24hours maybe?), probably to prevent this from happening...
 
I have stayed on my local bandwidth for a few days after the start of a new month without logging out. What it did was to allocate the usage after 24h00 of the last day to the new month's local (thus not starting in the new month with International as when you have logged out). So as far as I know with Telkom there is no free scoring of bw :sick:, at most you can swap the usage method around, but if you log out and in again, it will use the intern..
