Telkom looking to strengthen weaknesses

What could possibly go wrong? Try and get KT to invest in them, government scuppers it. In the middle of acquiring BCX, their CEO passes away.

Outsource telecommunications entirely. Move into the manure business.

Maybe Sipho should assess what skills and resources he already has at his disposal before "insourcing", "outsourcing" or partnering with anyone.

If you look at his top management structure most of them are new faces and don't know what their own employees could really do if they were giving the opportunity to do so. Their business processes are so rigid it kills innovation and initiative.

Instead of tapping into this pool already at their disposal they retrench plenty of their employees, many with critical and highly sought after skills.

And then pay external parties to do it for them...

@McD
but consultants who get overpaid to get it wrong are safer for executives than to use internal knowledge that gets it right

Big problem at Telkom and other semi-govt concerns is that almost all top management have NO experience of the sector they in.

In the past, the top structure were people who started at ground level and worked their way up.

Now it is a stepping stone to another company acquiring hunderds of thousand of shares on the way!! Also those who are asked to leave because of suspect fraudelant actions, resign and move elsewhere without a criminal record.
