I know this is not really the place to post this, BUT, i would like to know more about this. I have now had enough of speeds of 0.5mbps on a 20mbps line. So im considering going for the Telkom LTE uncapped deal as the coverage map shows im covered for LTE.

We are a family of 4 who mainly do streaming only, and normal day to day browsing, emails and whatsapp. Would this be sufficient for this deal? Would i be throttled as that is my main concern, as at least i know that on the DSL capped side im not being throttled into the ground(My speeds do that on in any case)

I think maybe you ask whether people constantly get LTE speeds or suddenly get dropped to 3G/edge speeds because of capacity or peak time, If you are a heavy downloader, then I would recommend trying to fix your ADSL, maybe just drop down to 4mb instead dude. clearly your exchange is congested ,in sy moer in.

It's only on p2p you get throttled 50gig(FUP) so torrents, I believe some apple updates and i heard some ps3/4 updates can count towards the 50 gigs.

I have a friend with LTE he stays with 5 other people in a house all heavy gamers and they pulled just under 1TB last month without being throttled.

They do use a VPN to hide what they are using but all are happy with ping and speed. They often get speeds up to 90mb/s but they are pretty stable at 60mb/s-70mb/s.

I have heard at peak times in certain areas speeds can fall as low as 1mb/s and then you stuck in 2 year contract with bad i-net. I read some where long ago that some guys got the LTE on a month to month and had to buy the equipment but not sure about this.

If I was in an LTE area I would use this over ADSL

If it wasn't for this nasty fact, I would take it in a heart beat. But I'm still very happy with my 4mb line 18-20ms ping to JHB servers and 1080p on Youtube and 720p on Netflix.

This is my big concern, especially with that 24 month contract bit. Might as well stick with the issues i have, knowing i can just drop my line to a smaller one until the issues can be sorted, and then move up again

For me the big issue with this deal is that I don't plan on staying in any place for 2 years. I'd take it if it weren't a two year contract in a single location, but as it is there's no point.

Why not try it first. Get the integrated sim (assuming you have a Telkom ISP account ?) Mine seems to be solid and I have ADSL as a fallback.
