I found out how to change it but it still doesn't work for some reason. PC and Mac.

Doing it according to the youtube, and making sure that it is using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on my computer, solved my problem completely - eBay.com is opening lightning fast now. I left my router with the default settings

ebay.com works fine, but for example ormsdirect.co.za doesn't work, and neither does my email (Afrihost)

I'm telling you its not a DNS issue, ive tried alternate dns, I've used google dns, I've used my ADSL dns.

https://www.voxtelecom.co.za/ never ever opens

Yes, you're probably right....but in my case moving to the Google DNS has fixed all the websites that were hanging for me before. My Facebook is now also fixed - I no longer have missing pictures on the newsfeed.

I tried the ormsdirect site that Randhir was complaining about, and it is also not loading here with me. So I guess it has been a partial fix for me until Telkom can get their act together

A good short term browsing fix for those who don't have a VPN is to use the Opera browser. It comes with a free VPN which bypasses the Telkom issues.

http://www.opera.com

Just remember to enable the VPN in Opera settings.

Temp fix: Opera

I tried the DNS settings, (8.8.8.8/ 8.8.4.4) that didn't work for me but the VPN in Opera Solution did.
Which is fine for browsing but unfortunately my main problem is ftp'ing with Dreamweaver. it will not synchronise files correctly or check them in/out.
I cannot get onto any of the websites on our server which is hosted with Hetzner or even onto the Hetzner website when going through the Router ( Huawei 315 ) and Telkom have once more "escalated" the issue.
It seemed to start around the 3rd or 4th Jan or no real reason and seems to be restricted to websites that I use quite a lot.
If anyone comes up with other solutions, please post or contact me.

Install Zen Mate from the Chrome App Store, problem solved!

If Telkom can fix this issue I will be a very happy client though, my speeds are great!

Zen Mate is known for spyware/adware please be very careful.
For a temporary solution if you use Google Chrome, install TouchVPN. Once installed - click the icon on the top right of your browser and then click connect. All sites should be accessible.

Lets hope Telkom fixes their issues soon - but for now, this solution works.

I have the same problem. I have logged 4 faults, and never heard anything back. The only temporary fix is to get a ISIGNITE L2TP VPN Static IP account. And add another router after the B315. You will then be on the IS network routing through the Telkom network, but at least everything works.
Do tell me more about this. What do they charge for data?

Guys what worked for me on my PC is to change the DNS server to Googles.
Primary - 8.8.8.8
Secondary 8.8.4.4

Google's DNS works, thanks.
Has anyone found a way yet to set this in the router? (I can't find it)

Thanks, this was a really helpful tip. I use Opera anyway (its battery saving feature works well for me), so it was easy to implement.

I have the same problem here in Bloemfontein, although I don't think the problem is location related. I'm on LTE Uncapped.

Changed the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8 without any change. I also tried OpenDNS, which also failed.

Sites that won't open are:

cellc.co.za, ebay.com, learn.ufs.ac.za, afrihost.co.za.

This is ridiculous!!!

Same problem for me in Durban. Can't get on to Ebay for the past week. Also had problems logging into the Apple App Store from my Mac machines and iDevices. Logged it with Telkom on Saturday but received absolutely no feedback since. It's not limited to the Uncapped LTE either. Can't log on to the Ebay app on my wife's iPhone nor on her Huawei tablet via their own Telkom SIMs. No issues on MTN which is what I'm switching to when I need to get to those sites.
