Telkom 10mb uncapped ADSL vs Telkom LTE Uncapped special?

I know I can do 150-250GB (LEGAL DATA, no network clogging torrent garbage) easily in a month on ADSL 10mb uncapped (Telkom ISP) easily with no issues. Although it costs me R1000+ a month, it's hassle free.

So what is the catch with the R599 LTE Uncapped? Am I going to be in tears?

Very difficult to say as I've only had mine since last week Thursday. It's been glorious so far though. Watching Netflix while my daughter's on Youtube feels like the lap of luxury :D

Will do. I do very little torrenting though so I won't be able to comment on that but I do stream a lot and play the odd game of Heroes of the Storm.

For legal use its awesome. BTW the 50 GB torrent cap only applies if out of night owl time. If you schedule torrents after midnight its not an issue as it doesn't count towards cap and downloads pretty quick.

Thanks, but I doubt very much that I'd hit the 50GB FUP on torrents. I don't even use Popcorn Time.

Service was good for a week. Now I'm pulling my hair out. Incredibly annoyed at the inconsistency of the service, despite having great signal strength.

So i got mine on 11/01/2016. You telling me there is a pro-rata cap until the end of your first month ? Does anyone know what that is ? And I got a sms stating I would be debited within 3 working days but that has come and gone. The first day i tried the service i got good speeds while mounting the antenna myself. Then that evening lagged out and couldnt stream etc. Was going to cancel it as i was in the grace period of 5 working days but yesterday i thought i would give it another go and i was playing BO3 on PS4 and streaming a 1080p movie on the internet at the same time and i didnt have any issues beside a little higher latency in game.

Hi guys.

I just want to confirm, is this the same service that is currently being advertised on the Telkom website?

http://www.telkom.co.za/today/unlimited-broadband/

I'm interested, but it honestly sounds too good to be true.

I currently stream twitch quite a bit, and I'm interested in getting Netflix to replace DSTV, but I'm pretty sure my current 4 meg line can't handle both running at the same time, so I thought this Telkom offer might be a solution?

Yeah this is the same service that I'm talking about. I've been talking to someone that got his mid december and he has already used 910GB. Hasnt had any issues so far. I had some issues on the first day and was a little frustrated but yesterday it seemed to work flawlessly

I have Telkom uncapped LTE for R599 a month on a 24 month contract since 08/02/2016, getting insane speeds (average 40-90mbps download) and used about 300-500gb for the month of February (my first month with this product) without being throttled, for instance yesterday I downloaded World of Warcraft, Hearthstone via the battle.net desktop application, Battlefield 3 and 4, Need for Speed Most Wanted via Origin application and Smite, Planet Side 2 and CoD Ghosts via Steam all together it was about 90gb of downloads in about 4 hours and afterwards I played online with no issues watched some youtube 1080p and 4k without any buffering etc. Average ping in-game (CsGo & Dota 2) is about 40-120ms depending on how busy the network is after 10-12pm it stays at about 40ms. Time when I usually get pings between 80-160ms is on Fridays 6pm-10pm but it not every Friday though. Can't be anymore happier with what I got, was a little bit concerned at first when I read all the reviews and what peoples thoughts on it was without actually testing or owning the actual product. You will only get throttled to 128kpbs if you exceed 50gb of peer 2 peer transferring (i.e torrent downloads) and when your throttled it will only be for peer 2 peer transferring as for anything else like Steam, Youtube, Twitch, Browsing the internet, Origin, Battle.net, Google Play Store, Pornhub :whistling: etc. is uncapped and will always run at full speed. :) Hope this will help some people on deciding which wireless deal is best for them. I have mounted the signal booster on the burglar proofing myself with cable ties and have full 4G signal I guess I am just lucky, the tower is about 200-300 meters from my apartment and I am on the ground floor there is only single story houses and trees between my apartment and the tower. Since I have full signal and now problems for the past 3 weeks I am not even gonna bother getting a technician out to install it outside on the roof, I'm scared I will have problems when the weather conditions change and it starts swaying in the wind for now everything runs great even if there is bad weather.

I can also confirm, could not be happier with this option at present. Got in late DEC 2015 and installed the antenna, got 100% signal and download speeds of around 30 to 40 meg. Had to make a slight adjustment on my antenna about 2 weeks ago, but still got 100% signal again. (I think Telkom did some re-alignments on their tower), this past month between 4 of us in the family used just over 300gigs, downloading, youtube, netflix, DSTV etc... and no throttling.

I heard allot of good things about this uncapped package and I also decided to give it a go. I did the online application and I received and e-mail that my bid was successful. I waited about two weeks with no reply. I decided to go to the Telkom shop in Bloemfontein to activate this in store. After a 45 minutes waiting in line it was finally my turn. I did not have the required documents so I took the application form home to complete. The next day I went to collect my router and antenna I was told that they had not stock and they don't know when they will be getting any new stock.

I am so disappointed, they could have spared me the hassle and told me sorry sir we can't help you.
