Telkom Mobi pricing comparison

i wouldnt support telkom with a 10 foot poll, even if they are cheaper. They screwed us from the start, and now they making things cheaper just because there is competition. Usualy prices increase due to inflation, so now you ask urself the question......how on earth can they charge cheaper prices several years later if inflation issuposed to make things moreexpensive? just imagine the profits they have been making off of us all these years. Telkom.....your bad past will not go under the blanket....everyone still knows who you are muh ha ha ha ha.

Yea... Telkom has a few billion rands in the bank... NOW they are using it to get new clients (and only for cell phones). What about Adsl products? Make it cheaper too. O yea.. no competion in fixed line/Adsl.

Now Telkom is undercutting all other providers by using our money. Thanks!

The differences in pricing is not compelling. However it is cheaper nonetheless.

Apples & Oranges

IF I understand correctly the TELKOM "Mobi" is going to have limited coverage. They do not intend to roll out a network country wide.

( There goes my convergence and consolidated billing )

OK OK I know about roaming.

Hardly fair then to compare with Network Operators that have had the expense of rolling out country wide networks.

Wait until the Mobile Operators start to compete in the fixed line category.

In fact they do already -- You can get business ADSL from MTN

sure telkom sucks balls, but these pricees is tempting..just curious as to how good their coverage is..hmmm......will hang on to my vodacommmmm for now...but its a free market and no matter who the company is, I'll go for the best value for my money

I was wondering about this, if it's seemingly so easy for Telkom to get into the mobile market, why is it so difficult then for companies to get into the fixed-line market?. Funding? No desire for competition from Telkom? Is it cheaper setup a mobile network than a fixed one?.

you cant really say that any of the providers are "for the people", they all a bunch of sharks, trying to squeeze as much money as they possibly can, and they all will screw you over at the first chance they get... that said im willing to support the company that is the cheapest provided the service is reasonable, and that company isnt cell c.

Slap yourself with a wet fish, stand in the corner and say hale merries until the cows come home, because it certainly ain't Telkom, Vodacom or MTN either.

Something interesting i noticed.. look at mtn, cell c and voda prices for on-net & telkom calls (peak & off peak) and you will see that they are EXACTLY the same (for peak and off peak), i.e. either telkom is not charging them a lot for interconnecting OR their minimum charge for on-net calls are artificially higher than they need to be(more so than normal to account for interconnect to telkom to cost the same). Only thing i can think of is that if they are still using telkom fixed line links between base stations they worked into it such that telkom + own network costs the same. (which i find kinda interesting)

Though Telkom have their shortcomings, much like any other operator, this offering is undoubtedly highly competitive and extremely appealing. More so for small businesses where every penny and the bottomline are what really counts. I'm hoping that soon Telkom will offer a data, mobi & fixed line offering - all in one.

I'll just w8 4 de National coverage then I'm onboard....!
