So after my issues streaming Deezer, I now have some other questions, and I'm hoping someone has some information/experience with these.

I am aware of three Telkom APNs, one is internet, one is TelkomInternet, and one unrestricted

My issues started occurring about a week or so ago, after working fine for a few months since moving to Telkom.

The default APN is internet. I changed it to unrestricted, and it seemed to resolve the problem, and I changed it to TelkomInternet, which also seems to work fie, but it's too early to tell.

What are the pros and cons of each of these? What's the point of being able to change it?

internet - Blocks inbound connections to your router/phone, recommended for most people
unrestricted - Allows inbound connections to devices on your local network, e.g. to access security cameras
telkominternet - Used for 'free' data on adsl packages (i.e. Wifi zero plans)
TelkomInternetflla - FLLA data

Thanks, so this also won't affect the way my usage is billed/calculated with regards to what is LIT, what is Free WhatsApp/Zero rated, and what uses normal data?

Makes no real difference for me if it does, just as a matter of interest.

No it has no affect on billing.

Using the normal internet apn means you are behind Telkoms CGB (carrier grade nat). So you get an internal ip to your router and then Telkom gives you a public ip on their side. With the unrestricted apn you get the public IP on your router which is great for hosting gaming servers, torrents, ip cameras hosting plex or media servers as the server will be reachable from the internet.

Hi all.
I am getting set to install a dvr for cctv which will require external access.
Changed the APN to "unrestricted" and my b525 now reports a WAN IP of 41.146.137.XXX
Set up DDNS with no-ip.com and when I ping my no-ip.com domain (from within my LAN) I get IP 41.246.26.XXX and this same IP also shows as mine on various websites.
Any ideas as to why my B525 reports a different IP from that seen by the world?

edit:
Maybe dns server cache flushing or whatever but now whatsmyip.com and others all show the 41.146.137.XXX address as mine. Don't know why no-ip.com has it wrong. Will wait and see if it fixes itself.

edit:
sorted. no-ip.com now agrees

It was probably a cache or router did not send the updated up to no-ip
