Telkom Mobile is down

Working in JHB for me.

It went down for about 10min. Data and voice calls are working.
 
Looks like some USSD like *180# and *188# and callcentre is still down....
 
I saw Twitter chatter that this may have something to do with Telkom moving MOBILE onto the TelkomInternet backbone (article by myBB a little while ago) but I see nothing concrete to substantiate this
 
Update: Telkom stated that a power issue at its Rosebank exchange at 10:15 resulted in a drop in connectivity for users on its mobile voice and data network.

All services have been restored.
 
back up in KZN - perhaps latency improved? - first time I've seen a 15ms ping....

Power issue kills countrywide network? Wow, they need to investigate that ASAP

Network was down long before 10:30...
I passed through Rosebank at 7:00 and had no data access at all. Switched to MTN roaming and it worked, albeit much slower.
 
Both Roaming and Home Networks will not stay connected for longer than 3 minutes now at a time.
Latency 200ms to any local server.
USSD offline, can't call any TM Numbers, it says they are unreachable.

A complete fail for a such an established Telecommunications company
 
Lmao all calls are for free to other networks.

Thanks for being down made numerous calls to verify prices and made new friends along the line. once again I want to say thank you

Telkom was basically down on the data side for me since Friday evening (JHB), only improved this afternoon. Signal was still weak to non existent this morning but it seems better now.
