I had a Telkom Mobile contract for more than eight years. Last year when the contract came to the end I decided not to renew it. I asked to keep the sim as a prepaid and was told to wait until the January the 9th this year. The contract has expired now but Telkom Mobile keeps debit my account. If I reverse the debit orders I get messages threatening to take me to their legal department. How do I stop Telkom Mobile bulling me?

I would personally never ask a company to move a SIM from contract to prepaid, as this is the potential result.
Surely you should be able to get them to cancel that contract as it's already expired & should be month to month at this stage.

If you lose that number, so be it, but at least they should stop debiting the account thereafter.

Do yourself a favour, stay away as possible from Telkom, you might have to port the number to one of the other useless cell providers to get them off your shoulders.

I signed-up to the month-to-month 1Tb Telkom deal and also have problems cancelling that but they eagerly cancel my cancellation for some reason. In my honest opinion, try and stay away from any deals with state owned enterprises.

I think I’m going to use that paid for lawyer services this time.

Thank you. At this moment losing the number will be better than paying for service I am not getting.

i am trying to cancel my "month-month" 1TB deal, how long did it take and any hiccups?

I had no major hiccups.

2 months cancelled already.

Only "hiccup" was paying 1 month after the month of cancellation which they outlined from the start. Still had 1TB given as usable data but it was not usable. Phoned and they said well it should be usable even though it is cancelled.

Didn't bother fighting for it as it was more important to have the service cancelled.

I got an invoice from them the following month to thr value of R0.00

I phoned to cancel, I know they say do it on thr online portal, but since I signed up telephonically I cancelled so too.

Don't do both as that may just confuse them unless after two months nothing is resolved.

They cancelled my 1tb deal but was more than willing to continue with the debit orders. Still waiting for feedback from these useless FTARDS. As I said before, do yourself a favour and stay away from these idiots as they feel that they can rob you in the same way the anc government does.

Keep on checking your account, there seems to be a communication issue between their accounts department and the service department. The people at “accounts” claimed that I was on a 24 month contract instead of the month to month while the other were more than willing to cancel the service.

Your bank will also charge you some fees when you cancel and request for a refund and believe me that these telkom FTARDS will try another way to take your money and it will cost you some additional banking fees.
