Telkom Mobile not sustainable: CEO

It was a stupid arrogant business decision.
4 companies, 4 networks, 4 everything, all to service a population of 50 Million people with the majority falling in the lower LSM groups. Very smart.

If the then existing MNOs were playing ball I am damn sure a RAN sharing agreement would have been entered into from inception. The stupid arrogant business decision was to over-invest in Nigeria on Multilinks and leave Telkom's SA operations vulnerable instead of investing in solid fixed infrastructure in SA while laying the foundation for a mobile operation that was entirely functional on integrating network facilities owned by multiple operators.
