Telkom planning 2,000 base stations and 40% population coverage at launch.

At the end of March 2010 we had 16,299 W-CDMA subscribers, an increase of 210.3% from 5,253 subscribers reported at March 2009.

i don't even have a land-line ... and cant get CDMA

I think that this might be a good opportunity for them but I still think that they would be foolish to ignore their fixed line assets as they differentiate them from their competitors. It just seems as though everyone is offering wireless access these days...

Telkom has signed a national roaming agreement with MTN

who would have seen this coming 3 years ago?

I was on telkoms 3G offering, and it was very good but the quality's [and the latency] performance just keep getting worse and as the days went by - I suspect from the increase in load.
