I'm rather less than impressed with Telkom Mobile lately.

First of all, there was the error in subtracting from the incorrect Nigh Surfer bundle soon after the switch from 8ta to telkom Mobile. I lost quite a couple of GBs because of that.

And the latest (although I have myself to blame for this one) - the rather confusing options when buying prepaid via the self-service web interface.

For example:

#1 R698 => 10GB (2 x R349 => 5GB once-off) (expires in a month, or 60 days if you buy the 2nd bundle later in the month)
#2 R999 => 10GB once-off (expires in a month)
#3 R999 => 25GB + 25GB (expires in 6 months)

Given the above variations, no sane person would ever select #2. Yet, it is easy enough to do so if you are in a hurry, and not 100% familiar with their options. Sadly, that is what I did (note to self: NEVER select the 10GB for R999 option. NEVER).

They are also not prepared to reverse any such transaction (even when the data hasn't bee used at all).

Conclusion: Somebody is clearly not thinking at Telkom Mobile, or they are simple very cunning...

Networks make their money by being confusing and difficult to understand. And also by charging a premium for out of bundle data usage.

(to my knowledge) no network will refund you for data or SMS purchased.

Ever tried 2+1GB R149? Buy another one when depletted (R596 for 8+4GB combined =12GB), or chose #3 when going for higher volume.
