Yeah Sly, that's kind of what people are worried about. Some say that's a recent addition to their clauses?
But despite that, the simple fact is that if I was using local it would be contributing to the total blended usage. Does Telkom expect us not to use our internet while they fix their problems?
I tried searching for that article from a few months back the last time this happened. MYBB interviewed one of the Telkom Internet guys who said that people who slipped through the last loophole would not get charged.
Does anyone remember the name of the article coz I have tried searching for it and I cannot find it?
Interesting ... the bit below:
Telkom does not guarantee the efficiency of the measures available in this clause 5.1.3. The Customer remains responsible for monitoring and controlling his Data Usage and will be charged for all Data Usage which exceeds the Blended Data Cap.
is only under the monitoring section of the terms. Is a customer supposed to monitor their usage 24/7? ... i think not and it is beyond reason ... The problem here "telkom not being able to properly cap you" is not in the terms and conditions. The best that they can do is charge you per Gb as local because "I tried to access my local but I ended up with international"
5.1 Internet access
a) When a Customer has reached the Cap, the Customer will not be able to use International Data, but will be able to use Local Data only, which will be charged for in accordance with clause 5.1.1(e) above.
More importantly, for all of us .... if we play by terms and conditions... all our shaped accounts should be unshaped because of this part in the terms and conditions (and this one isn't a joke):
2.1.18 Shaped Data means Local and / or International Data in respect of which no prioritisation is applied to protocols used over the Internet.
2.1.25 Unshaped Data means Local and / or International Data in respect of which no prioritisation is applied to protocols used over the Internet.
Why am is my shaped account not unshaped?![]()
So if you have 10/30gb local will you only be charged after the whole blended amount is done or what?
Can they prove that 10gb local you used was not used for local sites i wonder?
