Telkom not capping????

I have a telkom 3gb account and I've used over 6 gb so far and haven't been capped. Anyone out there know whats going on?

The BEEP theorom goes something like this:

Telkom is out to kill and close any ISP that is in competition to them. What they are doing is purposefully not capping their TelkomSA ISP users. The users will then rather pay the extra money to stay with them, and not be capped, than move over to the smaller, powerless ISP's. Then, the clients supporting the smaller ISP's will move over to Telkom, because they're not capping.

The smaller ISP's will then start dropping like flies, and Telkom once again rules the roost. Anyway, they have lots of spare bandwidth now that most people have moved over to IS. They can easily execute this theorom.

What do you think?
 
i'd rather live with the cap than join Telkom - Its already a burden that i have to pay telkom for the linerental & adsl rental (which is total BS)

Telkom has basically said "its up to the isp's to enforce the cap". I bet TelkomInternet doesnt even have to pay for gigs from big bro saix, they just use what they need, and no one said isp's had to enforce a cap. The difference is its costs isp's money when customers go over the cap, but bet it doesnt cost telkominternet f*ckall, there is afterall lots of spare bandwidth in SA that telkominternet gets to play with at its leisure. Seriously anti-competitive, would you expect anything else from telkom?
 
Yeah we're on about 50GB on a 3GB account. Still going strong. Even the SAIX ADSL Bandwidth monitor is screwed because it's stopped recording our usage at 29GB and 3 whole days were missing! Hope they never find our glitch... hehe. As they say, make hay while the sun shines.
 
i'd say enjoy this telkom **** up and get the full internet for a bit ;)
 
I think they probably just don't have their "new management system" up and running 100% yet. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
 
I agree - no such thing as a free lunch from Telkom. I personally try to keep under the 3GB cap especially this month - too afraid Telkom automatically bills you for the amount you go over.
 
Telkom is using whats known as an unfair advantage being SAIX's younger sister (i choose to use sister and not brother, brother has ba!!s, telkom doesnt) to exploit the bandwidth, so smaller VISP's run out of business - another one of telkom's touching tommorrow theories!!

Has anybody on telkom been capped? I definately want to take advantage of this but i dont just want to start downloading like mad to be capped half way through the month...

Me got a 3GB Telkom/Saix account, should have been capped days ago. Currently sitting on 19GB (more than 6x what I should have used).

Thanks Telkom, you guys have given me such as nice early christmas present !!! :)

this just does go to show how much crap the cap really is !!!
i mean i am going nuts with downloads, even inviteing mates over
and internet is still going just as fast over all.

any one else noties no real change ?
