ASSIA tells me it's a cable fault? too much metallic?
Fibre is far easier to manage... fewer hands in network to physically stuff things up!/Takes note of who has access to system
Anyway - I prefer to phone. They're usually pretty good...esp if you start off ultra polite. One still gets the occasional 1 trick pony "reset port" guy.
As a side note...fibre seems to have much better remote troubeshooting. Recently phoned (not ZA but should be similar) and the guy says "logging into router...fibre link looks fine but router reports there is nothing connected on the ethernet ports. Please check the lan cable between the fibre end point and switch". Sure enough...damn ethernet cable got moved 2mm out of the port by something.

Told him that 2 weeks ago... there's a massive fault on his cable.
