Telkom PACE 921 static IP?

Thanks for the reply ponder...

After confirming my worst fears, the PACE 621vnx cannot be setup with a static IP address and DNS, which means it is effectively a good VDSL modem with very limited routing capabilities.

I have just ordered a Asus RT-N66U router and will be using the Pace as a modem only.

Wish I knew this a week ago...

Hi There,
Ponder asks a good Question. What is it that you are trying to do?
The Pace info in the manual tells me that you have control on the LAN side of the addressing.

Regards

Tim

I was trying to only have the Pace as a modem / router instead of having 2 devices.
I have a public IP with AH that I wanted to use on the Pace, however thanks to crap firmware from TI we cannot utilize the Pace as a proper router.

I also use Unotelly DNS.

What is it that you are trying to do?

I am considering this exact setup (I have the PACE router). How does the RT-N66U perform? I hear it starts giving trouble after a few months? (Sorry to reopen this old thread).

Hi Miltzi,

I have since switched to the Asus DSL AC68U modem/router combo. Works exceptionally well!

I only switched from the RT66U because I wanted to have an all-in-one device. My previous setup (PACE & ASUS) worked very well, with zero issues. Just get the latest firmware from ASUS.

Hope it helps..
