Telkom poised to ring the changes

not quite the same as last time when SBC had a shareholding, but what company signs such agreements if it is not very beneficial to them?

If you ever get a chance to see September live check out his body language, its a bit of a worry - have big plans but cannot talk about it, then bragging, speaks volumes. Creative accounting to cover the true loss of Telkom media would help, so would leaving all 35 African countries alone,.. at least until Telkom sorts itself out and SA as well - talking of which their shopping basket goes to ICASA soon and this will be what we get for 2010 - but we all expect to be missing the boat, like the fates of managed liberation and quiet diplomacy

I don't understand why Ruben has a 5 year vision. When was the last time a Telkom CEO lasted 5 years?

Once the Vodacom cash cow goes, the fun will begin...

What pisses me off is that Telkom advert where they talk about the 2010 world cup with the children's playground etc. They making excuses as to why our internet sucks. DIE TELKOM DIE!

Its all very well, that his vision is to be the Number One ICT company in Africa, get your act together locally first then go and look at other territories.

* Reduce bandwidth costs - Diginet & broadband
Drawing more customers to open Call centers (more investment) and providing much needed jobs.

* Reduce your call center wait times.
* ADSL2+ when ?

Its all yak yak yak, my 2c are worth nothing.
Watch Seacom come, land, provide - watch reduced prices no ways, the consumer will still be milked.
Lets see which ISP will make history with reduced b/w costs
R200-400/month for 4Mb/s uncapped

Ivy has come and gone - changes, the public will wait and wait and we will die too with all the waiting. Thats life in SA regarding communications, maybe my grand children (ok I do not have any-but you now what I mean) will benefit from reduced prices.

Enough yakking and back to looking for work for an extinct dinosaur. (OWM - old white male) nice TLA ( three letter acronym)

Talk is cheap. Let's see if September manages to make his juggernaut become customer-centered right here on home ground first and foremost.

We'll see if they can manage to install my 7 months overdue line... Right next to a complex at Waterfall mall..... losers:mad:.

Talk is cheap

He said the next two years would be “all about delivery” to customers.
As long as it is not the "HSDPA is like a Porsche so R2/MB is reasonable" nonsense cause that is the kind of delivery I can do without and will get a cheaper deal elsewhere. Lets hope Vodacom has not rubbed off that well on Telkom...

He said the next two years would be “all about delivery” to customers, stakeholders and shareholders, but he could not discuss specifics as the company is in a closed period ahead of its results.

The only thing telkom has ever delivered on is poor service.
Oh, and by the way, your 5 year plan is about 10 years too late.
