For R699 Neotel has a much better 200GB cap and FUP.
2Mbps vs LTE?
Coverage wise (Joburg, PTA, CPT, Bloem)?
Start up costs?

Is this really LTE or 2Mbps over LTE? I recall Telkom having this as 2Mbps and not full LTE speed.2Mbps vs LTE?

Apparently everything besides HTTP is shaped to hell between 6PM and 12AM. Pretty weird time slot though but seeing as it's aimed at residential the rationale is probably that most people will be using it within that time. Don't know about the regular speed. If this is Telkom's normal package it's also throttled to 2Mbps during all times.

*EDIT: Only after reaching the 50GB cap.

We need lots of clarity before signing on the dotted line. TELKOM LTE uncapped service offering is throttled at 2 Mbps. The normal standard price is R899 - Is it the same offering - just disguised as something else. I would like a sim card deal.
If I had more clarity before signing on the dotted line. If the speeds are throttled at 2 mbps then this service shouldn't be called uncapped Lte, misleading consumers like data sim did.
The online sale portal will be on the Telkom website from 10 June, and includes a coverage map with the LTE areas that are eligible. On the coverage map, physical addresses can be entered to determine whether or not a customer is eligible.

These are the areas where*Telkom’s uncapped*LTE packages will be available:Bedford Gardens, Benoni SP, Bonaero Park, Bryanston, Crystal Park, Eastleigh, Florida, Glenhazel, Highlands North, Hyde Park, Leachville, Linksfield Ridge, Mayfair, Morningside, Mulbarton, Noordheuwel, Northcliff, Northmead, Paulshof, President Ridge, Protea Glen, Randhart, River Club, Selection Park, Sharon Park, Sydenha
And will be rolled out to additional locations in the following months
That's on LTE yes. Before Telkom launched their 2Mbps deal which is also uncapped LTE. More clarity is needed. I can't find any of this on their site which as usual is a complete nightmare to navigate. If this is indeed unlimited and not just uncapped they have just undercut their 2Mbps uncapped with something far better. If I read the title, it says: "uncapped LTE", and here are the speed test results http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/562231-Telkom-Mobile-LTE-Speedtest-Results

Old article http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broad...es-adsl-vs-neotel-wireless-vs-telkom-lte.html
Not uncapped Lte speeds

Here's the whole article: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broad...s-price-of-unlimited-mobile-data-service.htmlAfaic it's not LTE. 2Mbps can't be LTE.

There's no "LTE" in it. And it is called "SmartInternet" which is different to this new product.
EDIT: Perhaps confusion is that you get an a LTE router?
Here's the whole article: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broad...s-price-of-unlimited-mobile-data-service.html
It doesn't mention LTE as it's usable on the whole network but it does mention 28Mbps for the modem yet it's throttled to 2Mbps. This is specifically tied to LTE as fixed broadband. So you're saying Telkom has just undercut its best product although only for a few users?
EDIT: The TM page for this: http://www.telkommobile.co.za/smartbroadband-uncapped-wireless
It's not active yet but titled "smartbroadband-uncapped-wireless" as well. There's nothing from Telkom that this will be LTE speeds.

Could also be the old offer rebranded. Yes the page is non-existent still (I said so) because Telkom hasn't released any direct details yet. This is on the LTE network but you're relying solely on mybb reporting that it would be LTE speeds. That's the same article Richard points to as well...
What makes you think this is the same thing? Ok, I see now B686 is not a LTE router.
They coupled last LTE offer with a B593 too which is a LTE router, but was shaped/throttled to 2Mbps (?)
Plus 2nd link renders page not found.
I see 2 offers here:
1. The OLD R899 (price slashed) 2Mbps offer (your link) - everyone.
2. The NEW R599, R699, R799 LTE offer (this article) - selected areas in GP and only 150 peoples.
They 2 are different things. Independent of each other.

As expected, mass downloading will be limited on Telkom’s new uncapped wireless data deal.
