From South Africa, on a world call card I would pay R2.20 a minute. That equates to 2 000% more.
Let's not even go into local calls which in comparison show that we are totally ripped off, to the minimum tune of 500% more a minute. Not to mention Telkom's ADSL lines which are an absolute joke, yet cost a fortune. Talk about anti-competitive practice! Oh yeah, I forgot, Telkom don't have competitors.

we pay nothing for loacl calls off-peak and peak.

Wepay a monthly bill like 300-400 rand but its unlimietd calls local.

and in the UK the unemployment figures are based upon those actively seeking employment - the figures disregard completely people who arent interested in working and those on the dole which accounts for a large percentage of the UK population North of the Watford Gap. There are third generation adults now who have never worked nor had a parent or grandparent work, nor are they actively seeking employment.rburley said:

IN London, last time I worked in the inner city housing projects, 3 out of 10 children were meeting the UNICEF assessment for children growing up in ABJECT poverty. seriously OT but worth commenting on.
