Telkom Router Advice

Background Information:
Premium 1 mb Mweb uncapped + adsl customer

Transferred adsl line to telkom - this was completed on Tuesday.

Requested (Tuesday) that Telkom upgrade my adsl line to 4mb as well as an uncapped account from them.

Telkom operator contacted me today, where I basically repeated my request.

About an half a hour later, received an sms from telkom with user name and password.

Emailed mweb to changed my uncapped account to a 1gb capped account (this is to keep the email accounts).

Came home and checked my router, confirmed that it is syncing at 512/4096 kbps.

However router (Billion BIPAC 7300GRA) is still configured on my mweb settings.

Searched for telkom settings (google/telkom/do/mybroadband) no luck.

Decided to change the following on WAN configuration page:
Username to the telkom issued username
Password to the telkom issued password
Service name from mweb to telkom
Saved and restarted the router

However got an authentication fail message.

Changed the settings back to old mweb settings, and everything is working again.

Am I using mweb or telkom internet?
If mweb, once mweb downgrades my account, I will have a 1gb to use, there after no internet or will i connect automatically to telkom ( which i dont think will happen)
If telkom how am I connecting without a username and password to thier network.

So basically how or what do I changed on my router to connect to internet via Telkom as my ISP.

All information you need for a specific account to work is the username and password. It looks like you followed the correct procedure (changing those) and it should have worked. But it didn't (authentication failure) so either one of two things happened as far as I can tell: 1) you entered the Telkom username and password incorrectly or 2) the new Telkom account in not yet active.

No automatic switching between accounts will take place. You can look at you router's settings to see which account you are using at any given time.
