What Do?

Can I use another Satellite ISP or do I have to wait for a miracle?

I am hoping for a second ISP

Want to stick it to them (Telkom)

We're wanting to start offering Broadband satellite, as a new branch of our current Wireless ISP division, who's the best company to lease space from on a satellite connection?

0115309324

Got a lot of information from this website

It costs about 16 k For the gear and then around 1300 per month for uncapped net. But speeds vary between 256-2mbit (Depending on your package)
If you want more info I can forward you their brochure.

(this is for anyone who stumbles upon this topic in the future)

Then there is stil the Thuraya you can look into
http://www.thuraya.com/store-locator/international-service-providers/a (since there is no companies operating from within South Africa)

Thanks, and then I connect with an international service provider right?

No, you pay Thuraya and trust me you are going to pay, lots. I don't think Thuraya has proper coverage in SA but things might have changed since the last time I saw a coverage map.

Satellite sucks for latency. You best bet if you wanna go down that path is to look for a local VSAT provider.
