Telkom say I must drop linespeed to prevent errors

Phuq, phuq, phukkity, phuq, for phuq sakes Telskommel sort out your phucking lines! :mad:
I've been experiencing this same schitt for over 3 months now.
Despite no less than 6 line faults logged, 4 site visits from different techs who all concluded that the underground cables have poor insulation, all calls were closed without the phucking problem being fixed.
This happens every time with the slightest hint of rainy weather on the far horizon.
Does anyone perhaps have a DIRECT contact number for a TELSKOMMEL executive that actually gives a schitt?
I'm even thinking of putting out a reward of some sorts for anyone that can provide direct contact information that may help solve this schitt.
There is just no way that any consumer can live like this!
 
Got a techie yesterday he cldnt tell the difference between my wireless router and adsl modem, then had the nerve to close the fault and say the line is working. Opened call again yesterday, never get a call today. Gonna call in about an hour and ask for a manager, cos this **** is till broken :(

SNR Margin (Upstream) 7.0 db
SNR Margin (Downstream) 18db
Line Attenuation (Upstream) 30.5 db/

Am having the same problems for the last week. Tried to log a fault with 10217 but they said I must phone adsl to log a fault? So who are you guys calling to log a fault?

If so many people have this problem how can they not acknowledge it ?

What does it all mean?

Looking at ur stats you are quite far from the exchange i am going to guess. SNR needs to be much better than the 10/7 u were getting at 4mbit. IS the 1mbit working more stable for u ?
 
Logged a fault...... lets see what comes of it....

The call centre guy said it could be the voltage which is too high on the line that is causing the router to lose sync.....

As an aside - can one set their router (Mega 100WR2) to sync slower or does telkom need to do it on their side?

Hi guys,

Going through the same motions again, Telkom always opt for the easy way out by dropping your line speed instead of fixing the actual line fault which is the problem. There seems to be a glimmer of hope, they are apparently deplying dslams on to the edges of exchanges where most people seem to be having problems. I have the same issue, on the edge between Clearwater, Florida and Aasvoelkop exchange. Unfortunately don't know who to speak to to check if they will ever deploy a mini-dslam in out area. Currently on 2mbit profile.

@i-am-milo - you get this info from your router. Log into your router - there should be some kind of status page to indicate your line stats.
