Telkom sheds light on ADSL problem

South African telecoms giant Telkom has confirmed that a “break” on its ATM network, in Rosebank, caused a large-scale ADSL service interruption on Friday, but says the problem was resolved.

I remember, and I was definately down for much longer than they claimed

I'm from the SunningHill area - my ADSL was down till about 9pm. The times are definately wrong.

What is going on at the Rosebank exchange? - Telkodemonopoly took such a long time to figure out what & where the problem was[/is - I expect more problems soon] - they should be much more jacked up, we are paying exorbitant amounts for incompetence - especially at the Rosebank exchange, which is arguably the most important exchange in the country - Telkodemonopoly should have their best technicians there

Telkom's best technicians were retrenched last year. Only the incompetent techies remained behind with the managers.
