Telkom Simple broadband free call complaint

Technically correct, but who talks for an hour on a phone? :wtf:

Well done Jan Botha.

We need more people to be activist and complain.

Well, Telkom knows that if they add the phrase "Only 1st hour free" some people may not be interested in the offer. So, what they did was to decide that they will advertise it as totally free and catch consumers later with their Terms and Conditions.

I agree with the ASA companies should be stopped in their tracks. More people should go and complain.

Love birds and women. my gran used to talk on the phone to her son for upto 2.5 hrs, its was CRAZYYYYY then again she only spoke to him once every 3 - 6 months

Love birds can talk to each other for more than hour almost every night. It's not really that surprising. What surprises me is that companies still use words like "free" in adverts, then put the costs involved in the Terms and Conditions. It's appalling.

If telkom only allows 1hr for the weekend, then people could easily use that hr up on the Friday and get charged for the Saturday and Sunday.

My daughter. Then just before an hour is done, she disconnects and redials and talk for the next hour and then...

If not mistaken when you receive your telephone account clearly states, ISP
Correct.
I do still regularly install dial-up an I get charged for those 0860007249 calls and I do have the day time free calls.

As far as I understand it, you cannot talk for more than an hour at a time, but you can talk for 59 minutes, hang up and start again for another 59 minutes.
