So, I have been peacefully using my 50Mb fibre line, and it kept doing what it was meant to. I resisted the urge to apply for the speed upgrade promotion, as I am fine with how it has been working. It does seem to be running at double the speed on the downlink now. Is anybody else's line also faster without asking for it? Are we aware of speed increases?

It's two separate promos, one that specific ISPs offered that you had to opt in for and then this one that everyone that qualified for automatically got and it will automatically revert.

You can tell it's the second automatic promo because as you noted only your download speed increased.
