So who of you have been lied to and how many times?

I can tell you i am sick of this bull****, this is now the second time ( 2 diff locations) i get told the lines have been stolen 55 times(strange was the same amount of times in both locations) when the lines have not been stolen. I traced the lines from my house to the exchange and found multiple breaks in the line all tangled up like a little baby puppy got a hold of it with wires sticking out all over.

My guess is the technicians working for telkom are lazy arseholes that dont wanna spend their work hours fixing crowsnests of wires and would rather sit on the cornor of a road having lunch and taking a nap. so instead of fixing the lines they put it up as "stolen" and then giving them reason to tell the customer.. sir we not going to replace your lines because they keep getting stolen. BULL**** , the lines are not stolen and your lies will have to come to a end. I do realize lines do get stolen yes, but it doesnt mean that you can avoid fixing them when they are not stolen.

Now i contacted them again today trying to find out whats going on with the progress and the telkom assistant was "surprised" the fault was logged over 5 months ago and nothing has been done. again opening the case adding that the lines are in fact NOT stolen. If for some reason they refuse to fix this issue because they say lines are stolen i will take it further tho the news and let some proper investigations take place.

if they cant i will take this billion router and shove it up their arse and would like a full refund for it as its only 3 months old using it at a location currently with a phoneline, but i am moving and will then be unable to use it.

/rant off

holy crap 5 months and nothing has been done, telkom.....................

Sounds like some unethical behaviour. Report your experience to the Telkom fraud line at 0860 124 000.

It is not hosted by Telkom employees but by an Auditing company (Ernst & Young) and every call is logged and tracked by them. They will co-ordinate the internal investigation and ensure that there is no cover up. You are also given a ref number and can follow up on the progress.

I I'd rather lick a dog turd than deal with a Telkom technician for a day. Believe me, I have experience with them. (Telkom technicians, not dog turds)

You'd think telkom would actaully want your money :wtf:

The worst thing is it was paid 1 year in advance already, so ofc they dont care now, money has not only been banked. but also been getting interest on the money.

ADSL rules:
Rule #1 - never sign a 24 month contract for bandwidth
Rule #2 - never pay one year in advance for anything in the telecoms industry

Agreed, agreed and agreed.

Unless you're a big company and can play serious hardball and get a SLA you're best off paying on a month-by-month basis. Easier to cancel and switch over to something else.

luckly i did not pay it one year in advance, the owner of the property i am moving to did ;)

still it just makes me sick to the stomach this friking place

No seems the crime line wont help me, cause its not a crime to lie to your customers, i tried calling cust care on 0800600126 and it keeps telling me that the nuber has been discontinued... honestly WTF is wrong with this ****ed up place called south africa:mad:

I call 10 212 and then the arsehole on the other side comes and tell me that i am trying to log a residential fault and when i say yes he cuts me off.... then i phone back and the same guy picks up 1stly i shout at him , then tell him that this is residential as i not only pressed the option for residential but this is the god damn number i dialed and aparently i am not at residential , then he puts me trough to " residential... oh guess what... same guy ( sekelelo Ntantei) so hopefully some telkom dude can read this and sort this out, its ridiculas beyond ridiculas and pissed enough to get my own copper lines and put them in and charge telkom for it.

Roodepoort - Jhb

But the location for the issue where i am moving to is Midrand- glen austin ext 1

Some people are just too damn patient when it comes to these things.... seriously... 5 months? get your ass in gear and stink up the place already.... or if it really matters that little to you, just cancel the service and go for an alternative already.... but 5 months!?!?!!?

It does matter to me because of me playing online, and all complaints and calls i do lay on deaf ears. they are just unwilling to help, they just say " sorry but there is no date for when we will fix the lines" please by all means if you know a number i can phone or someone in teklom i can talk to directly feel free to PM me, because i have tried i have swore i have swore more.. nothing comes from it.

  • your experience to date (remain factual).

i just sent them a mail, as best and as helpful and as good as i can, i can only hope something will be done.

24 hours and no reply. I know many will think give it more time, sure i dotn have much of a choice. I would have liked to have had a rely in the words of " we read what u said and working on the problem" i am just frustrated that the end of the month is coming and i wont have internet nor a phone and i have no idea for how long. this is just insane

I've sent a mail to that number about two months ago, and no reply..

Best bet is to call 0800 375 375 and demand immediately to be put through to a manager, then call again until you have one manager at each call centre.

Then call each day and whichever call center you get, ask to speak to the manager you spoke to last there, and ask him to chase it up for you.

I'll start your list for you.

Khayo in Durban
Ikraam in Cape Town

There's three other branches that I know of, and two different call centres in capetown.

Good luck in your search for service, I've gotten none since august last year.. Though it's improved since then.
